Newcomers come to Canada with varying English language skills and literacy levels. To ensure you will attend the best suitable language training program, the first step is to provide a language assessment and referral service, free for permanent residents, convention refugees, and naturalized Canadian citizens. After your test, we will refer you to appropriate English language programs in our region, such as Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC), alternative English as Second Language (ESL) classes, or more informal Conversation Groups.
